Raleigh Olympus 1971 Golden Arrow ( 80's Shimano Equipped Eroica Bicycle) 57cm
About this Bike:
I bought this bicycle 4 years ago in Nottingham. I restored it to a tribute to what my original 'junior' Olympus might have become.
I changed the original Chang Star to the more appropriate for riding - Mafac's - I've put suitable modern blocks on it to avoid that 40 year squeal that MAFACs normally have 
It has a nice comfortable and sport Brooks Vitesse. plus leather look Brooks Handlebar Tap
A bar bottle cage 
Shimano Golden Arrow Gearing and Chainset with the bottom bracket changed to square taper and a modern Shimano fitted. These were a much welcome  replacement to the original Huret Svelto and single chain ring
The chain was a New old stock Sach-Sedis - Gold
I'd got a Weinman Gold bake set to run on it - to highlight the gold metallic in the logo's. Unfortunately the gold calipers were too short  , so restored and refurbed  some original Racers
We've had 4 good years and now its time to pass it on. In those years, it's rode Eroica Britannia and a few other local and not so local vintage bicycle events.
The wheels are after market but definitely look the part and ride well.
I've done about 150 miles each year of the 4 on it. This is an incredibly smooth and enjoyable ride. Enjoying everyone of them but as you know, we can't keep everything and I have another  Vintage Steel bike now
I've keep all the refurbishments 'of the vintage era' or 'in keeping with' - even adding a Sach Huret Odometer.
Hoping it will go to a home that will love it as much as I do
